Baixue Ma, Tax Lead

At airCFO, we celebrate our people. We want to share their experiences and a little of their personal side with the world! We started “Our Teammate Spotlight” to do just that. We hope you enjoy!

• How long have you been with airCFO?
  • I joined the team in May of 2020, so about 1.5 years.
• Tell me about your background – where did you come from, what type of industry?
  • I worked at different CPA firms for six busy seasons prior to joining. My clients were in various industries, but the majority were in manufacturing.
• Why was airCFO the right place for you?
  • I got the opportunity to build the tax team not long after I joined, so that was super exciting for me. Also, my work-life balance is so much better than before.
• What is your favorite thing about working at airCFO / What type of work do you find most interesting?
  • I like the idea that I am supporting startups with great missions. Our clients are working on cures for diseases, software and apps that make everyday tasks easier, and other ground-breaking innovations. Although I only know about accounting and tax laws, working alongside our clients makes me feel that I am a part of something much bigger. I’d like to think that I am contributing a little to their missions.
• What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
  • I love dancing – Kpop in particular. I have a dance team called “Bean Counters,” which I named after my beloved profession. Currently, we are working on a number that we hope to take on stage in 2022. I also love hiking and travelling.
• If you could offer our clients one piece of “free” advice, what would it be?
  • Cheap can be expensive in accounting and tax compliance work! Work with competent accounting, tax, and legal professionals, and your future self will appreciate it when you want to sell your company or go for an IPO.
